Why is health insurance important?
As a parent you know that the decisions you have to make for your child's health can sometimes be difficult. Having health insurance means less worry for you when your child is sick because they will have access to a doctor. When your children are ill or injured you won't have to worry about how to pay for doctor visits, prescriptions and other services.
Prevention is an important part of your child's health. Even if your children are healthy, they will stay in good health with well-child visits, immunizations and dental checkups. Seeing the doctor for routine check-ups is vital to children's overall health.
Oral Health Program
ISHC's Community-Based Oral Health Program allows appropriate access, for the low-income population, to preventive and restorative dental services, through enhancements in oral health screenings.
These enhancements include:
Risk Assessment with referral to Outreach Coordinator
Oral Health Screening with registered Dental Hygienist
Referral to Dental Home where preventive and restorative care is performed and subsidized by Oral Health Grant received from the NH State Department of Health and Human Services
FreshStart Tobacco Cessation Program
Freshstart is an American Cancer Society tobacco cessation program that helps people to stop using tobacco products. It provides information on why people get addicted, what causes themto keep using tobacco products, and helps to develop the best quit method for each individual.
Sessions will be held in Indian Stream Health Center's new Community Room. It is a comfortable, safe, and inviting environment which makes the room a perfect atmosphere for the sessions.
The program has four sessions, each lasting about 1 hour to 1.5 hours in length. The four sessions will be held each week, for four consecutive weeks.
The program costs $20.00, however, if the person attends all four sessions, their money will be refunded.
For more information on the program please contact Ginny Petro at 603-388-2414.
