Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) and its Board of Directors would like to inform the community that the Women’s Health Program will be having an evening program on December 8, 2011 from 6-8pm in the Community Room. Typically the holiday season can be a very stressful time in a woman’s life. ISHC would like to provide you with tips to guide you through a "Stress Free Holiday Season". Light, healthy refreshments will be provided.
Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) and its Board of Directors would like to inform the community that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To celebrate, ISHC honored Wear Pink Day on October 19th and has been distributing goodies to patients attending the Women’s Health Program throughout the month of October. There is a table setup in the Lower Level Lobby with pamphlets and free gifts. ISHC has many great Women’s Health services for patients to take advantage of.
The Board of Directors of Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) is pleased to announce that a video submission from two employees from the health center was voted as one of the Grand Prize winners of the National Health Center Advocate Video Contest on September 1st, 2011. The video highlighted ISHC’s services and its development as a Patient Centered Medical Home. Jonathan Brown and his team, which included the health center’s part time IT assistant, Allie White, and a number of staff volunteers, created the film showing how Indian Stream provides access to comprehensive healthcare in a rural area. Health Center employees, including providers, nurses, front office staff, and family members, volunteered their time to help showcase all the services that ISHC provides to the public.
Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) invites community residents to an Open House on Wednesday, August 10th at noon to introduce a new Telemental Health Program in collaboration with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) White River Junction Medical Center. Funded by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Rural Health, veterans in the ISHC service area in need of behavioral health assessment and treatment can now meet with a psychiatrist or psychologist located at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction using state of the art telecommunication equipment located in ISHC. The health center’s equipment includes a monitor and video camera with microphone connected to a secure connection over the Internet that allows face to face communication between individuals in separate locations. Veterans who have had to travel nearly three hours for behavioral health services at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction can now receive the same care close to home.
The Board of Directors of Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) is proud to announce the recipient of the health center’s third annual Community Service Award. The 2011 award is being awarded to the staff at the Canaan Vermont Office of the Northeast Kingdom Community Action (NEKCA) Program at our Annual Community Meeting on Monday, August 8th at Jackson’s Lodge, Canaan VT.
The Board of Directors of Indian Stream Health Center (ISHC) is proud to announce the health center’s third annual Exceptional Customer Service Award. This award is being given to Ginny Petro, ISHC Clinical Outreach Coordinator, on August 8th at the health center’s Annual Community Meeting which is being held at Jackson’s Lodge in Canaan, VT. The meeting is open to the public and is starting at 5:30 pm. There will be a buffet dinner at no charge although a suggested donation of $10.00 will be gratefully accepted from those who are able to contribute.
