The Board of Directors of ISHC is pleased to announce the ground breaking for the construction of a 4,200 square foot expansion and renovation to the existing building at 141 Corliss Lane.  Shirley Powell, CEO of the Health Center stated, “This operational improvement of our facilities was made possible by the receipt of a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration in the amount of $385,275, because of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status and in recognition of the improvement in services provided by Indian Stream.”

After a careful process of soliciting and reviewing bids for a design/build project, the Health Center directors chose Dan Hebert of Colebrook as the general contractor, expected to begin work on August 7 and complete the project before the end of the year.

According to ISHC Board President, Bridget Freudenberger, “The success of these services brought home the need to expand the building footprint as well as renovate the present facility to meet more stringent requirements. Consequently, the Board approved a 4,200 square foot building expansion and renovation project.  In addition to the $700,000 which will be funded by the grant and a commercial loan guaranteed by the United State Department of Agriculture, the Board has established a target of $188,000 to be raised through a capital campaign that will accept both outright gifts as well as pledges over the course of the next two years.”
